You Are My Sunshine

Our granddaughter L. spent Saturday and Saturday night with us and as usual, I took several pictures while she was here. As I looked through them and saw this picture I thought about one of the songs that she and I like to sing...."You are my sunshine....my only sunshine....you make me happy....when skies are gray. You'll never know dear.....how much I love you....please don't take my sunshine away!"

She truly IS like a little ray of sunshine in our lives! Oh to be like a child and be so aware of our surroundings, so awed at something simple, so energetic , so demonstrative of love, and so eager to learn new things! Jesus must have thought we would be better off seeing things through the eyes of a child, too! Just look at what he said in Luke....

"And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein." Luke 18: 15-18 (KJV)

Thankful for the illumination of "SON-shine" today!

My husband preached on that very scripture yesterday morning. She is, indeed, a ray of God's sunshine. Oh that well all would look with wonder upon the creation with the heart of a child.

So glad your done with the dentist!

What a sweet picture! Why is it that sometimes the older (and wiser?) we get, the harder it is to see the simple truth of things. I think the things we search so desperately for - God's blessings, peace, joy, (this could be a very long list :) are often right in front of us all the time.
I pray that I can recognize the beauty and blessings of the Lord that surround me every day with the enthusiasm of a child.

Such a beautiful little girl and post and of course the others have made me hungry--not just for the fruit, but for the beauty of where it's grown. Such a beautiful place you live!
