Signs of Fall

Fall has arrived softly this year in north Mississippi. We've had a really hot summer and in fact it's still warm this week. Seems like it should be around the first part of August instead of the middle of October! We're beginning to have some leaves turning pretty colors now. I love the fall colors but it always makes me a little sad cause I know the leaves will then soon turn loose and fall off leaving the bare trees. That I don't like!

Last week it felt like fall. Early morning low temps in the thirties and highs for the days in the seventies. Back to summer for the last few days though . Broke a record with a high of 91 yesterday!

Along our country road the wildflowers and weeds are blooming profusely.

There especially seems to be an abundance of ragweed this year! I am pretty sure that's what is making a lot of people sick. I know it's affected me!

All in all, it reminds me of the wonderful creativeness of our God. He knows how to change things up with the seasons so that we always have something new to look forward to.

Acts 14:17Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

You know, in all my travels through blogland this is the first time I found someone who chose the same design that I chose! Love the look of your blog! Your area of the world is so beautiful, thanks for sharing it. I've traveled through Mississippi many times - lived in Alabama and Florida - and the pace with which the earth seems to change there always impressed me. It's like it say, "slow down and stay still for awhile." So what we must do in our modern world today! So happy to have found you and will be following along!

Hi Marilyn,
It seems we have had the same weather lately. Our trees are really beginning to change their colors to beautiful fall colors too.
Loved your pics. too. wild flowers are some of my favorite flowers, and we do have a lot of ragweed around here too.
beautiful scripture too.
I read your last post about salt, and loved the analogy, I too have to watch my salt intake, but use it for gargling sore throats, and other things.

Thank you for coming by and for your sweet words.
Blessings,
Sue

Hi Marilyn,

How are you doing? Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've been having a lot of fun working on my historical Christian fiction book I'm writing. I completed my seventh chapter this afternoon.

I am anxious for cooler temperatures. We had some, but now it's warm again. Hope you are well.

Blessings,

My good, kind friend...

I received the bounty of your "fall" at my doorstep today. A little "peace" and a little "jam"! Your heart is huge, and I felt every ounce of love tucked into your generosity. Thanks for taking the time to brighten my day and to walk on this path with me. I'd be lost without all of my blogging friends.

You make me a better pilgrim.

I love you.
