Bloom Where You're Planted

These yellow "flags" can barely be seen from my front door. They are blooming alone down by the "tire swing tree". But they are as beautiful and as fragrant as they would be if they were planted right beside my front door where I could see and smell them every time I went out.

Do you wonder why you were "planted" where you are in this life? I sometimes do. We may wonder why we were born in the country and seem to have so few opportunities to do things for God. Or we may wonder why we were born in the midst of a teeming city and stay so busy that we don't know what to do!

I've often heard the old saying, "Bloom where you're planted" and I thought about it this morning when I was walking and noticed these yellow Iris blooming way off from the house, all by themselves. Maybe you feel today like God has somehow set you aside. Like you are alone. Like there is not a "big" job for you to do right now. Don't be discouraged. Just bloom where you are! And there will be perhaps a weary traveler who comes by your way and is refreshed and encouraged by the beauty and fragrance of your "blooms"!

"Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." (Luke 12:27)

God bless you!

Marilyn,

As I get out and about today, I'm going to reflect upon, blooming where God has planted me. Thank you!

Lovingly,
Yolanda

What a beautiful post my friend. You do a magnificent job of blooming where you are planted and I love how the internet allows us to bloom in places where we never could be planted otherwise.

I've heard the saying many times too...and there have been times I've wondered why God has planted us where he has...but like those flowers, as long as we are able to get the 'food' we need, we WILL bloom...no matter where we are.
