Speaking Again

I am so excited! I have been asked to speak to a ladies group at a local church later this week. This will be the first time in four years that I have spoken to a group of ladies other than my ladies class at my own church. I love my Sunday school class! They are so kind and so attentive when I teach. They have been a great blessing to me!

Now I look forward to speaking to the ladies at the church one of our sons attends. It's a special honor to be speaking to this particular group of ladies because they were the very first group that I every spoke to ...way back in 1987! And coincidentally, it will be on the 22nd anniversary of that first time that I have been asked to speak again! Wow! 22 years ago! I spoke on the Heart ("Let's Have a Golden Heart") and had typed my notes out with my typewriter! I still have the original notes and one of the little hand-outs I made for that night. Wow! Pre-computer! That really dates me, huh? Another great thing is that there are many of those same women from 22 years ago still attending that church! A dedicated bunch if I ever saw any!

Would you please pray for me? I know several of you that read my blog also speak at women's events and know how very important a part prayer is in preparation. I have been praying for several weeks that the Lord would give me the words to say but most of all that HE would get all the glory and honor and praise and that I would just move out of His way! (1 Corinthians 1: 31 "That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.")

Thank you in advance for your prayers!

Marilyn, I was smiling as I read this. I too am speaking at a Ladies Group later this week - Thursday afternoon. This group too is the first group that I ever spoke to several years ago, and it too was around Valentine's Day and I spoke around that theme.

I will be praying for you. Let me know when it is and I'll be praying specifically at that time for you.

So excited for all the ways God is using you!
Hugs, love & prayers,

Absolutely I will be praying for you...and for Joy, as well. I know full well that I could not speak unless people were praying for me. I totally rely on prayer!!

Please let us know how it goes.

You will be such a blessing to them, as they will be to you. I firmly believe that God loves an obedient heart.

Hi Marilyn from Mississippi.
This is Liesa from Mississippi! ha.
So good to meet you. And yes, I will lift you up to God. I love to speak at ladies meetings, etc., but it honestly just about makes me sick every time. It's an awesome responsibility to stand before people to proclaim our Lord. But, HE always meets my needs and gives me peace, and I know He'll do the same for you.
Looking forward to getting to know you better. God Bless You dear lady! (and thank you for the nice comment you left on Wed. in the Word last week)

Oh my Marilyn, that is incredible. I know God will bless you and direct you and HIS message. How awesome to have so many ties with where you are going back to? I love the typewritten notes and all you still have. God is so good. May HE bless you abundantly.
