"One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters"
~ George Herbert~
Dear Daddy,Happy Father's Day! I think of you most every day but especially today on your special day. As a little girl growing up I remember always feeling safe when I was with you. You never were much for showing emotion or affection but I knew you loved me. I knew because you worked hard every day as a barber to make the money to pay for our house and our clothes and our food. I knew because you came home from work each night and spent time with your family. I knew because you took us to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday nights.
It wasn't until I was a grown up woman that I remember you hugging me and telling me you loved me. But I always knew. Because love is so much more than words. Love is action. And you were one of the most active men I ever knew. This is your second Father's Day in heaven. I know you're having a great time! We miss you here but will see you there someday.
I love you Daddy.

Dearest Marilyn, I read this father's day blogs and feel like weeping. My Dad was shot down in 1988 in a bulgarly. I miss him so much. But we do have the hope that we will meet and hug again.
OH MARILYN...GIRL, YOU'VE BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES!!! YOU'RE A DADDY'S GIRL TOO. I'M SO THANKFUL TO STILL HAVE MY DADDY. WE TOOK HIM AND MOTHER OUT LAST NIGHT. I'M DEFINATELY A DADDY'S GIRL-AND I TELL EVERYONE THAT I LIKE IT THAT WAY! :) I'M GLAD YOU HAVE GOOD MEMORIES OF A GODLY DADDY, AND MOST OF ALL THAT ONE OF THESE DAYS WE WON'T HAVE ANY MORE SEPARATIONS.
HOPE YOUR HUSBAND AND SON HAVE A BLESSED FATHER'S DAY!
Marilyn,
A beautiful letter to your Dad, and I honestly believe, that Jesus and your Dad are reading it together.
Lovingly,
Yolanda
A beautiful tribute to you Dad. thank you for giving us a glimpse of your hardworking, loving Dad.
Blessings ~ Lisa
Beautiful. I know how it is to miss your Daddy. I miss mine so much but I know that he would not come back here if he was given the chance. Heaven and Jesus are simply too wonderful to leave. I can't wait to see Daddy and Jesus one day.
Have a blessed week, Marilyn.
Leah
Thank you, Marilyn. What a wonderful, sweet picture. I've printed it out to keep.
Love you,
Ouida
Marilyn,
It's hard to believe it has been two years. I was thinking of my Dad yesterday - first Father's Day without him.
Hope your week will be a good one, try and stay cool.
Sharon
Marilyn, that is so sweet, but more than I could take today....Thanks!!!
Your sister,
Elsie
That is a great quote for those of us who had Godly fathers. My dad was not big on expession either but I knew that he loved me;
I remember being sick and saw tears in his eyes. He was big on giving praise to the Lord ( sadly, something you don't hear as much
anymore). He praised Him when he was sick and when he was well. I also look forward to seeing my day again. Thank you for
the memory trip this morning. Hope you have a great (warm) day! Someone from church yesterday told me to "keep warm"----
I looked at them quizzically and said, 'I don't think that will be a problem'! Hope this made you smile!
With Love,
Peggy
