The Prints We Leave Behind

On Saturday,Valentine's Day, my husband and I kept our two grandchildren so our son and his wife could have the day to celebrate. This was the first time they had taken a day for themselves since the baby was born over two months ago.

On Sunday evening when we came in from church, hubby brought my Bible to lay it on the bed in here where the computer is. That was also the bed that I had let our grandson sleep on while he was here since he's not old enough to roll around and fall off yet. Hubby called to me and I came to see what he wanted. He pointed at the blanket that our grandbaby had been sleeping on the day before and said, "Look! There's still the print of his little head!" Isn't that sweet! I just had to take a picture of it because, sure enough.... the print of his little head had been left behind.

We all leave prints behind wherever we go. We may not notice them. But they're there. And it either leaves a good or a bad impression on the ones who come behind us and see the prints. I pray I will try to leave good prints behind me.

"The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Psalms 16: 6 & 11

Marilyn, As a Nana myself, I almost cried when I read this. Grandbabies are the BEST thing in the world!

I love it when I see where their little fingers have been - the little crumbs they leave behind. You are blessed!

I also love the way you tied it in to our lives.

In Him,
Beth

Beautiful analogy! I bet you had a hard time straightening up those covers.

Simply said, yet packed a truthful punch friend.

Love it.

Beautiful. I have an entire message about our legacy and the marks we leave behind. It is a powerful one that the Lord has me giving over and over as I speak.

Hope you are well. Take care.

This made me smile remembering When my son was little. Thanks for jogging great memories.

I pray that I'll be more aware of the handprints that God leaves today.

Blessings - Lisa

As a Grandmother myself, those little ones are truly the joy to the parents of their parents. ;-)

Last week one morning I recognized the prints of my hubs feet on our fluffy bathroom rug...they were left there as he got out of the shower. And truthfully, it just took my breath away.

I love your thoughts here, and thank you for sharing them with us.

Lovingly,
Yolanda

So sweet. I don't have granchildren yet, but I sure enjoy stories like this. Thank you for sharing your heart. I will guard against leaving anything but a heart print that blesses the Lord.

Marilyn, thanks for visiting my fitness blog and for your prayers. I'm not well yet but now on stronger meds since seeing the dr.

God bless your heart and I left you a reply message at my blog.

I enjoyed your message about your grandbaby (I have two of those precious little ones myself) and the imprint he left. We all do leave prints behind. I pray mine are prints upon peoples hearts of the love of Jesus.

Bless you my new friend.

What a precious short story that means so much. My prayer is too, that I might leave an imprint of the Father's love upon the hearts of those HE has entrusted to my caring.
