He Is Not Here: For He Is Risen!

I'm getting a late start but am participating in "Tuesday's Treasures" over at Mari Larkin's blog today! It's a place for "Ganmamas" to come on Tuesdays to brag on their grandbabies! As I have spent the biggest part of the day with mine I'm ready to share!

Today was the perfect temperature for playing outside in the bright and beautiful sunshine! Granddaddy tried to fly a kite for them but the wind just would not cooperate! Ganmamma....that's me!....made bubbles with a bubble wand from Walmart for them to chase around the back yard. Granddaddy pulled them in the red wagon. Then they decided that the sand was THE thing for today!

Last week our little granddaughter asked us: "Where is God?" A little surprised at her question I replied, "He's in Heaven and here with us and everywhere! Why do you ask?" "Well," she said, "we sing a song at church that says, 'He is not here....He's alive!" It hit me immediately that she had been singing an Easter song without knowing the meaning. I explained to her that after Jesus had died and been buried some of his friends went to visit His grave and that when they got there an angel told them He had risen from the dead. "He is not here: for He is risen!" Matthew 28: 6 I was so glad she asked her Ganmamma that question so she could know that He is indeed here with us! :)

Happy Easter week to everyone!

Marilyn,
I am another Grandma and I just wanted to stop by and tell you how very blessed I was when I read about your granddaughter asking about where God is. Those are the moments that are forever in our hearts.

Thanks so much for joining in over at Mari's for Tuesday's Treasures!
It's been a pleasure to meet you.

Praise the Lord...we serve a Risen Saviour!!! What a wonderful day you and Benny had with your babies...they'll never forget it either. I still remember my PaPa who has been gone for 40 years coming in from the field at lunch and pretending to eat the best mud pies he'd ever tasted! I was only 3 and 4 years old, but I feel so warm inside when I think of his sweet smile. Keep making those precious moments and keep telling them about our risen Lord. He's their ONLY HOPE! God Bless You dear friend.

Awww... the week for Easter talk. Daughter and I had a big one last night; she's quite moved (at 7 years old) by the pain of Jesus, so we had to have some special time of talk and tears and tissues as we walked through the story again. As she grows older, she grows in her understanding. Our kids (and grandkids) need to hear it from us, not the world's version therein.

As I told my daughter last evening, this story now belongs to you. You will have it for the rest of your life, you must tell others, it's your sacred trust.

What a precious moment for us. I'll never forget it.

Keep telling the story, Marilyn. Time well spent and invested!
